    What operating systems are supported by SMAC? 
    SMAC supports Windows 2000, XP, 2003 Server, Vista and Windows 7.

    Are there legitimate uses for SMAC? 
    SMAC can help people protect their privacy by hiding their MAC Address and help IT Professionals test network security and recover MAC Address based software licenses.

    Does SMAC change hardware based MAC Addresses? 
    No. SMAC changes the software based MAC Address that is used by the network adapter device driver.  

    How do I spoof a MAC Address with SMAC? 
    1. Select the appropriate network adapter.
    2. Type in the new MAC Address you want use.
    3. Click on Update MAC to apply the new MAC Address.

    Note: The new MAC Address should automatically take effect. Otherwise, simply reboot your computer.

    How do I use SMAC to remove a spoofed MAC Address? 
    1. Select the appropriate network adapter.
    2. Click on Remove MAC to remove the spoofed MAC Address. 

    Note: The original MAC Address should automatically take effect. Otherwise, simply reboot your computer.

    Why doesn't SMAC seem to work? 
    Be sure that your account has Read/Write access to the registry.
    Be sure that you are using a valid Singlecast IANA Ethernet MAC Address.
    Be sure that you are using only Microsoft certified Network Adapters (NIC).

    What is a "MAC Bridge Miniport"? 
    Windows XP may have a single MAC Address for all bridged network devices. To remove this, use the following instructions to unbridge your network adapter:
    1. Click on Start/Control Panel/Network Connections.
    2. Right-click on your Local Area Connection and choose Remove from Bridge
    3. Right-click Network Bridge and choose the Disable option.
    4. Click OK close all screens.

    Does SMAC work with VMWare virtual network adapters? 
    Yes. SMAC supports most newer versions of VMWare.
